Free and Legal MP3s
…seem to be going out of style.
Two sites providing artists a chance to be heard, and listeners to listen have gone away. One of the oldest free and legal MP3 sites was MP3.com, which was bought by CNet and transformed into music.download.com. That has gone away in the last week or so, to be replace by a commercial site.
To add insult to injury, the Washington Post was running a little promo site for (mostly local artists), including my former hammered dulcimer teacher. That, too, has also inexplicably gone away. Sad.
Katrina. Not sad.
